Terms of Use

Last updated: August 31, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to StreetHub (The Streets) at thestreethub.ca and our related apps. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use StreetHub.

About StreetHub

StreetHub is a Canadian platform that helps newcomers and residents discover verified housing, roommates, jobs, training, shelters, food banks, walk-in clinics, and community services. We provide search, listings, messaging, arrival checklists, and optional premium features. StreetHub is a marketplace and information service — we are not a landlord, employer, broker, immigration consultant, or legal advisor.

Accounts & eligibility

You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your password secure, and notify us of unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, our safety policies, or applicable law.

Tenant verification

Users who register as Tenants may upload Canadian identity or immigration documents so our team can verify eligibility to post listings. Documents are reviewed by authorized staff, stored securely, and never shown publicly on your profile or listings. Submitting false or altered documents may result in immediate account suspension.

Listings, messaging & safety

Listing content and messages must be truthful, lawful, and respectful. Do not post discriminatory, fraudulent, misleading, or harmful content. Housing listings should accurately describe rent, location, accessibility features, and availability. StreetHub may review, approve, reject, or remove listings. Messaging is intended for good-faith inquiries about listings and opportunities. Lease, employment, and service agreements are solely between the parties involved unless we explicitly state otherwise.

Payments & premium features

Some features — such as contacting certain landlords or employers — may require a paid subscription processed by Stripe. Prices and billing terms are shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew according to the plan you select unless cancelled. Refunds follow Stripe and our published billing policy. StreetHub does not store full payment card numbers.

Prohibited conduct

You may not scrape or reverse-engineer the platform, upload malware, harass other users, circumvent verification or payment controls, impersonate another person, or use StreetHub for unlawful discrimination or spam. We may investigate reports, cooperate with law enforcement when required, and remove content that puts users at risk.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

StreetHub is provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by Canadian law. We do not guarantee that every listing is available, accurate, or suitable for your needs. To the maximum extent allowed, StreetHub and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or dealings with other users.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of StreetHub after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
